FAQs

Who do you work for?

As a photojournalist and writer, I am currently freelancing. In the past, however, I have worked with/for multiple organizations, both in and out of the military.

How do you choose what projects to photograph?

Right now, I’m focusing on covering expeditions and projects of an exploratory, scientific, or military nature. Of course, dozens of factors come into play in the consideration of photographic coverage. If you’re involved in a project that needs a photojournalist or writer, please feel free to send me an email with the details.

Did you work for NATO?

No, I did not work directly for NATO HQ. I worked in the public affairs office of the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza, Italy. My job there was primarily to document the U.S. Mission to NATO from the perspective of the 173rd and their tasks of training alongside NATO allies and building readiness across the NATO alliance.

Have you deployed?

I have not been deployed to a combat zone as a service member in the armed forces of the United States. While with the 173rd, I was forward stationed in Italy, and from there, traveled across Europe and parts of the Middle East - but not to combat zones.

As a civilian journalist, though, I have worked in/near multiple areas of conflict, and my presence there was independent of my duties within the U.S. Army.

Do you work alongside Russian media?

Although Russian state media outlets have routinely published images of mine that are in the public domain, I have never been consulted about these publications nor have I worked alongside the outlets in any way.
